HIV and HIV Cure-related Events in 2015

2015 is looking to be an eventful year in HIV and HIV cure research! Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of the upcoming workshops, conferences, and other events related to HIV cure research. The searcHIV team is looking forward to the exciting year ahead!

• In January 2015, the University of California, San Francisco Gladstone Institute of Virology & Immunology/Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) sponsored the annual symposium titled: “HIV Persistence: Progress and Problems in the Search for an HIV Cure” in San Francisco, CA

• On February 21st and 22^nd the 5th International Workshop on HIV & Women will be held in Seattle, WA

• The 22nd Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI 2015) will take place the 23^rd to 26^th of February in Seattle, WA

• On March 5^th (through the 7^th), the 2015 Palm Springs Symposium on HIV/AIDS: “HIV Disease from Cause to Cure” will be held, organized by the University of California, Irvine Cancer Research Institute (NCI) and the UCLA CFAR/AIDS Institute

• Beginning in March (and running until October 2015) is the CUREiculum Webinar Series. CUREiculum is a collaborative project involving CARE, AVAC, and the Martin Delaney Collaboratory Community Advisory Boards (CABs). The aim of the project is to make HIV cure research science more accessible to the community and the HIV research field. Webinar topics will include: Stakeholder Engagement, Latency Reversing Agents, Early Antiretroviral Treatment, Basic Science and Translational Research, Measuring the HIV Reservoir, Therapeutic Vaccines and Immune-Based Therapies, Informed Consent, Gene Therapy, Ethics, Participation in HIV Cure Research, and Animal Models. • In April, the 1^st HIV Microbiome Workshop 2015 will be held in Bethesda, MD on the 7^th and 8^th

• Boston, MA will host the Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology – Mechanisms of HIV Persistence: Implications for a Cure. Events will be held between April 26th and May 1st at the Boston Park Plaza

• The long-awaited International AIDS Society 8th Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment, and Prevention will take place between July 19^th and 22^nd in Vancouver, B.C., Canada

Of special interest to those focusing on HIV cure-related research, the event will feature the 2015 Towards an HIV Cure Symposium on July 18^th and 19^th

• The Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy for HIV Cure will be held August 13-14 in Seattle, WA.

• The Seventh International Workshop on HIV Persistence during Therapy will be held between the 8^th and 11^th of December in Miami, FL
