Zachary C. Rich is a fourth year medical student at Tufts University School of Medicine with an interest in the social determinants of health. Through the Doris Duke Foundation he will spend a year working with Dr. Joseph Tucker on the UNC HIV Cure Project. The project aims to identify the social implications of curing HIV and future global treatment barriers. As part of the UNC Project China he will work at the Guangzhou Number 8 Infectious Disease Hospital. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has worked extensively on public health issues in China including a 2010-2011 Fulbright Fellowship on the tobacco culture. In his free time he enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and hiking.
