kali zhouKali Zhou is a recent graduate of the internal medicine residency program at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her medical school training at Northwestern University. Her clinical interest is in viral hepatitis and she has previously completed research on viral breakthrough with new direct acting agents in clinical practice. She is currently in Guangzhou, China performing clinical research under a yearlong Fulbright grant at the Number 8 People’s Hospital. Under the mentorship of Dr. Joseph Tucker and Dr. Xiaoping Tang, Kali will be researching prevalence of baseline polymorphisms that confer resistance in a treatment-naïve population of HIV/HCV co-infected individuals. She will be starting a gastroenterology fellowship next year with the goal of becoming a transplant hepatologist.
